When it comes to longevity and aging well, we now know that a key component of both is the health of our cells. Each one of us has over 37 trillion cells in our body and we rely on these building blocks to effectively carry out their functions and to keep renewing themselves as we age. One of the issues we face as we are aging is that our cells fail to replicate correctly which can cause disease. This is also why aging is the issue at the core of many of the big diseases we see with old age.
My guest today is Dr. Sandra Kaufmann and we will do a deep dive into all things anti-aging. Sandra is a cell biologist and the Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Florida. She is the founder of the Kaufmann Antiaging Institute which focuses on educating about the reasons why we age and how we can minimize the effects of aging.
